To The Lupus Genetic Project At
UCLA |
The lupus genetic study is a
research study to identify the genes in persons with lupus (SLE), and their
families, that may increase the risk for developing lupus. We are actively
recruiting families from all over the world to participate in the study by
donating blood samples, to isolate DNA, giving us the ability to look for
possible susceptibility genes. The study, ran by Dr. Betty Tsao, Ph.D. has been active since 1994 and has
enrolled over 2,000 participants and 500 families.
If you or
your family has any interest in participating in the Lupus Genetic Project, we
are currently enrolling lupus patients and their families in the study in order
to gain a better understanding of the influence of genes on the disease.
